Reintroduction of face-to-face consultations

In line with the latest public health guidance and adhering to strict safety protocols, the Department for Work and Pensions has reintroduced face-to-face consultations for Personal Independence Payment (PIP).

Claimants will be invited for their appointment by letter, which will clearly set out what to expect at their appointment.

Face-to-face consultations will take place alongside existing paper-based assessments and telephone consultations, which will continue to take place where suitable.

Please note that we will also contact you if we need to see you in your own home.

DWP has published detailed guidance on the resumption of face-to-face consultations which can be found here

The approach and guidance will be kept under review to ensure it remains aligned with the latest public health guidance.
