We will arrange your appointment as soon as possible. There is no need to contact us to check the status of your application; we will be in touch as soon as an appointment is available.

Our Customer Services Team will be able to help you with enquiries relating to your PIP appointment or your case generally.

We have three customer service contact numbers; the correct number for you to call is dependent on where you live in the United Kingdom.

Our Customer Services Teams are at their busiest dealing with calls between 11.30am and 1.30pm, Monday to Friday. Please bear with us if we don’t answer immediately or try calling outside our busy times.

We offer a Video Relay Service (VRS) for deaf and hard of hearing people who use British Sign Language (BSL). This service is free from your own home or mobile devices. (8am to 8pm, Monday to Friday and 9am to 5pm on Saturday).

Areas of operation

The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) ask Independent Assessment Services or Capita to assess people who are claiming Personal Independence Payments (PIP).

Independent Assessment Services

Independent Assessment Services provide PIP assessments in the North East and North West of England, London, the South East, East of England, South West England and Scotland. 

Capita

Capita carries out Personal Independence Payment assessments for DWP in Central England, Wales and on behalf of the SSA in Northern Ireland.
