    From the A1(M)

    Exit the A1(M) at Junction 62. At the roundabout, follow the signs for the A690. Continue for 0.6 miles and then leave the A690 at the exit marked Dragonville/Belmont.

    Turn left at the top of the slip road. At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto Sunderland Road. Turn left into Eden Terrace and Bannatynes Health Club is on the left.

  • By Bus

    The nearest bus stop is Eden Terrace on Sunderland Road, approximately 0.1 miles from the centre.

    This stop is served by the following buses:

    20 & 20A (Durham – Sunderland)
    265 (Seaham – Durham)
    208 (Peterlee – Durham)

    From the bus stop, go along Sunderland Road towards Durham City Retail Park. Take the first left onto Eden Terrace and Bannatyne’s Health Club is further along on the left.

  • By train

    Durham station is approximately 2.3 miles from the centre.

    The station is located at the top of a steep hill.

    As there are no direct connections to the centre we recommend taking a taxi from outside the station.

    Please contact Atos Healthcare Customer Services before you travel to ensure that your taxi will be reimbursed.

    Alternatively, take the number 20 or 20A bus from Durham bus station (Stand L) to the Eden Terrace bus stop on Sunderland Road. Durham bus station is accessed via the entrance on North Road, 0.2 miles from the train station.

    From the train station exit onto Station Approach.

    At the bottom of the hill turn left and go straight across the roundabout taking the 2nd exit onto North Road. The bus station entrance is approximately 100 metres along on your right.

Consultation centre opens: 8:30am

When you arrive

Remember to bring two forms of ID and your appointment letter with you.

The Consultation Centre is inside Bannatyne’s Health Club. On entry, please let receptionist know that you have arrived for an appointment with Ascenti.

You will be directed to the clinic.

Other helpful info

Ascenti is on the ground floor, a short distance from the main entrance. There is an accessible toilet available. There are two steps up to the main entrance. Ramp access is available to the left of the door.


There is a free, private car park directly outside the health club.

Disabled parking and a drop-off point are located outside the main entrance.
